Overview

This program will be useful both for habeas practitioners and for trial lawyers who want to steer clear of post-trial problems.

Attendees will participate in an interactive case study that deals with: challenging false confessions and eyewitness testimony, establishing an alibi, presenting an alternative cause of death, and proving legal innocence. Participants will devise strategies for conducting investigations and formulating issues into cognizable claims for habeas relief.

We’ll discuss 11.073 forensic writs, federal habeas practice, and practice before the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
