Overview

Presented by the IEL Young Energy Professionals Practice Committee

Patterned on the successful and popular Houston program now in its 7th year, the IEL’s Young Energy Professionals are pleased to introduce, The Appalachia General Counsel Forum. This new program has been organized for the evening of Thursday, June 19, in Soutpointe, PA. The IEL YEPs will host six general counsel to share professional and career advice. This evening event is going to be of great interest to in-house counsel who want to hear more about the careers and business concerns of some of the most senior lawyers in the energy industry, and to attorneys in private practice who want to improve their ability to address the needs of their clients. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception, followed by a panel discussion, after which each general counsel will join a smaller group of young attorneys for dinner and a more intimate conversation.

Among the panelists for this first Appalachia General Counsel Forum will be:

  • Jennifer McDonough, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Rex Energy Corporation
  • David P. Poole, Senior Vice President – General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Range Resources Corporation (NYSE:RRC)
  • Jason D. Witt, Assistant General Counsel and Director of Land Management of Murray Energy Corporation
  • Craig L. Mayer, Esq. – Vice President for Government Relations of Pennsylvania General Energy Co. L.L.C.
  • Matthew Peterson, Marcellus Land Manager and Senior Legal Counsel of Talisman Energy USA Inc.
  • Annemarie Torrez, Supervising Counsel of Chevron North America Exploration & Production Company
