Overview

A Three-Day Seminar to Build and Sharpen Law Enforcement and Civilian Supervisory Skills

Aimed at current and future leaders, this three-day seminar will provide key principles of leadership, communication and character development that will enhance the ability of all employees to motivate, teach and lead each other in a team-oriented manner to achieve maximum performance. Using a combination of dialogue, practical exercises, case study and research, participants will be exposed to a variety of adult learning models and will become stronger, more confident leaders.

Faculty

  • Roy E. Alston, Lieutenant, Dallas Police Department. Dr. Alston is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned his doctorate degree from Waldon University. Roy’s passion is motivating and helping others reach their full potential.
  • T. Neil Moore, Director, Institute for Law Enforcement Institute. Neil began his police career with the Fort Wayne Police Department retiring as chief. Prior to joining the Institute, he served as Executive Director of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. Dr. Moore received his Doctor of Education degree from Ball State University.
  • Gregory Smith, Associate Director, Institute for Law Enforcement Institute. Prior to joining the Institute he was a Texas Police Officer; served 21 years with the United States Army and the Indiana National Guard. Mr. Smith received his M.A. degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Occasionally, the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) may be forced to cancel a scheduled program. Whenever possible, the decision to cancel is made at least fourteen days prior to the start of the program, and registered participants are notified once that decision has been made. If the distance to the training site requires that you make airline and/or hotel reservations, please contact ILEA (+1.972.244.3430) to inquire about the status of any program before making travel arrangements. While paid registrations in cancelled courses will be refunded in full, ILEA will not be responsible for monetary loss due to cancellations or changes in airline or hotel reservations.
