Overview
This valuable program authorizes graduates to present the following courses within their own agencies or local/regional academies:
- Eight hour Law Enforcement Ethics
- Sixteen hour Ethics for Field Training Officers
Teaching materials provided to graduates will consist of a comprehensive lesson plan, ethical scenarios for use in generating classroom discussions, and an ethics game. Students will receive a Note-taking Guide, wallet card and PPT.

Tuition
- $750 per student (includes all instruction and handouts)
Lodging and meals are excluded.
**Parking: Monroe Center II Parking Ramp (about 1 block from PD) is recommended. Cost to be paid by participant.
Who Should Attend

This program is designed for trainers and law enforcement practitioners preparing to teach or lead ethics discussions in their agencies or academies. Note: This program is best suited for individuals with prior training experience.
Schedule
This copyrighted program is 32 hours in duration, with class times of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 am to Noon on Friday. Since the program is highly interactive involving a considerable amount of group work, the recommended maximum class size is 25-30 trainees. Students who successfully complete this program will be authorized to present the various ILEA ethics curricula in their own agencies or local academies. Copyrighted teaching materials provided to graduates will consist of a comprehensive lesson plan, ethical scenarios for use in generating classroom discussions, and an ethics game. Students will also receive one copy of the Student Note-taking Guide, and a PPT presentation disk.

Police Ethics: Understanding the Present Through the Classics
Teaching Ethics from Solid Ground and exploration of the traditions of the "Great Books" on ethics, including works by a number of classical and contemporary philosophers. Discussion and examination of ethical issues will provide a firm understanding of the evolution of ethical thinking, and a solid base from which the student will be able to teach.

Course Cancellation Policy
Occasionally, the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) may be forced to cancel a scheduled program. Whenever possible, the decision to cancel is made at least fourteen days prior to the start of the program, and registered participants are notified once that decision has been made. If the distance to the training site requires that you make airline and/or hotel reservations, please contact ILEA (+1.972.244.3430) to inquire about the status of any program before making travel arrangements. While paid registrations in cancelled courses will be refunded in full, ILEA will not be responsible for monetary loss due to cancellations or changes in airline or hotel reservations.
