Participants will gain an understanding of the difference and importance of communicating in crisis; strategies to communicate to diverse internal and external audiences; and tactics to successfully ensure the right message is delivered to the right people at the right time, so they can do the right thing.
Practical mock exercises will be included to enrich the learning experience for the participant to handle communicating a crisis situation in a real world setting.

Director of Operations
FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA)
With more than 30 years’ experience, Judy Pal has served in management positions for public safety, government, and the professional sports and entertainment industry in both Canada and the United States. Today, she is the Director of Operations with the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association. Prior to joining FBI-LEEDA, she was Chief of Staff with the Baltimore Police Department, the eighth largest municipal police department in the United States. Previously, she served as Operations Director with Kroll Security Group, an international police consulting company; Chief of Staff with the Milwaukee Police Department in Wisconsin; and served on the command staffs of the Atlanta Police Department, Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department and Halifax Regional Police in Canada.
A former broadcast journalist and news anchor; she is passionate about image development, media relations, crisis communications, and the use of social media; and has hosted workshops and training for public safety agencies, government services, non-profit and professional associations.

Course Cancellation Policy
Occasionally, the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) may be forced to cancel a scheduled program. Whenever possible, the decision to cancel is made at least fourteen days prior to the start of the program, and registered participants are notified once that decision has been made. If the distance to the training site requires that you make airline and/or hotel reservations, please contact ILEA (972-244-3430) to inquire about the status of any program before making travel arrangements. While paid registrations in cancelled courses will be refunded in full, ILEA will not be responsible for monetary loss due to cancellations or changes in airline or hotel reservations.
