The 4th ITA Americas Workshop and the 8th Annual Congress of the Comitê Brasileiro de Arbitragem will take place together on September 21-23 in São Paulo, Brazil. Beginning on Sunday evening, September 21 with a Roundtable for young lawyers followed by a reception for all registrants and faculty, the entire conference will be conducted with simultaneous translation in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

The 4th ITA Americas Workshop on Monday, September 22 will offer Insider Insights into Complex Energy Disputes in the form of a mock arbitration presented in 8 dramatic scenes with expert commentaries following each scene. Led by co-chairs C. Mark Baker (Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., Houston), Carole Malinvaud (Gide, Loyrette, Nouel, Paris) and José Emilio Nunes Pinto (José Emilio Nunes Pinto Advogados, São Paulo), the players and commentators will include many of the leading arbitrators and arbitration practitioners in the world.

Arbitrability: The Last Frontier for Universalism
in International Arbitration

Following the successful previous editions, the VIII CBAr Congress on Tuesday, September 23 will address the topic of Arbitrability as the last frontier for universalism in international arbitration. Well-known local and foreign experts will address the different aspects of arbitrability (its notion, criteria for definition, applicable law and its limits) and its impact in international arbitration.
