This program is funded by a grant from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Attendance is limited to 60 Texas criminal defense attorneys (– registrants who have attended this program in the past may be placed on a wait list). Pre-registration is required to attend and provides for lunch and the materials. Materials will be provided electronically, and attendees will receive access details at the seminar (you will need a laptop, or another electronic device that is Wi-Fi enabled, and equipped with a PDF reader to access the materials during the seminar).

Courtroom attire is requested each day. CAIL will require program participants to follow certain procedures that comply with the latest CDC guidance as it relates to COVID. See current procedures: CAIL’s Criminal Justice Programs COVID Protocols. Check back on our website before the program for any updates.
Mock Case: Registrants will receive a program packet & mock case one month before the program, and will be expected during the program to use it to conduct voir dire, give an opening, direct and cross examine a witness, and give a closing.
*Tuition Waiver: If you qualify for the $75.00 Tuition rate, but are unable to pay, you can Request a Tuition Waiver. Tuition waivers are not available for the other rate amount. Tuition will be used to cover current and/or future expenses of CAIL’s Criminal Law grant programs or to provide for items the grant cannot sufficiently cover.
Confirmations will be sent to all registrants. If due, payment must accompany registration.
