Overview

Registration is required to attend. Details, including the agenda, presenters and approved CLE credit, will be posted here once confirmed.

This new two-day program seeks to bring together lawyers from both the defense and the prosecution to discuss and improve their understanding of criminal writs. The program will focus on practical applications and provide hands-on tips for practitioners on both sides of the bar.  It will also be useful to trial lawyers looking to learn more about writs and habeas petitions. Lecture discussions will range from "what is a writ" to habeas petitions for specific case types, and provide tips for attendees on how to engage productively with the “other side”.

COVID Warning and Protocols (Updated 1/31/2022): In an effort to ensure the safety of faculty, participants and staff, program participants will be required to follow certain procedures that comply with CAIL-mandated safety protocols for our programs: CAIL’s Criminal Justice Programs COVID Protocols
