Mexican Reforms - IEL and ANADE Team Up on New Conference

IEL and ANADE, the Mexican business lawyers’ association, have teamed once again to present a joint conference on the reforms in Mexico which will allow private and international investment in that country’s energy sector.  Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto signed the energy reform into law late in 2013, and secondary legislation setting out details of the new contractual regime are expected to be approved by the Mexican Congress by the end of April.

The joint conference, sub-titled La Reforma – Mexico Enters the Global Oil and Gas Market, will be presented in Houston’s Westin Galleria Hotel on May 1 and 2, only a few days after Congress completes its deliberations.  A number of Mexican government and PEMEX officials have been invited to participate, and the conference will be one of the first opportunities to learn about the details of the new secondary legislation and its implications for international oil and gas companies.

Conference chairs Nicolas Borda (Greenberg Traurig) and Ken Culotta (King & Spalding) have assembled an excellent faculty which will put the reforms into context and discuss international comparisons as well as detailing the new legislation itself.  To register, click here.
