Overview
“I did it, but I didn’t mean it.” Why do clients do what they do or act as they do? The mind and its machinations remains a mystery to even those that study it for a living. This two-day seminar explores different facets of the mind, particularly mental health issues, the effect of trauma and abuse, mental retardation, and other complex topics that are at play in clients' lives. Sessions will address mental health issues and illnesses and the legal processes used to deal with them in the criminal justice system. The program will also include interactive demonstrations.
This course is funded by a grant from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
