Overview
More than 2.4 million American's from every state and every Congressional district have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Most return successfully to their normal lives, but others have faced serious readjusting after returning home and end up in civilian criminal courts. This CLE is intended to give criminal defense lawyers tools for understanding and defending their military veteran clients who are charged with violent offenses. The program will also be useful for lawyers representing clients in veteran courts.
With the exception of invited faculty, attendance is limited to defense attorneys and those who directly assist them in Criminal Defense Litigation.
This course is funded by a grant from The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
