The Center for American and International Law (CAIL) has released its Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Report, showcasing a year of growth, innovation, and impact in legal and law enforcement education. With programs spanning six continents, 81 countries, and 47 U.S. states, CAIL continues to equip professionals with the knowledge and resources to strengthen justice systems worldwide.
"In Fiscal Year 2023-24, we took deliberate steps to ensure CAIL’s work remains innovative, relevant, and impactful," said Thomas (T.L.) Cubbage, CAIL president. "By refining our programs and strengthening professional connections, we continue to empower legal and law enforcement communities to lead with integrity and drive meaningful change."
By the Numbers
- 170 programs held, including 129 in-person conferences and 41 webinars
- 8,806 registrants, including 7,724 judges, attorneys, and legal professionals and 1,082 law enforcement officials
- 74% of programs focused on legal education, covering transnational arbitration, energy law, criminal justice, law and technology, international law, and other specialized areas
- 26% of programs focused on law enforcement training, emphasizing leadership, ethics, and investigative practices
Key Highlights
- CAIL was a finalist for D CEO Magazine’s Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards in the Organization of the Year (Large) category, recognizing its impact in North Texas.
- The Institute for Energy Law celebrated its 75th Annual Energy Law Conference, drawing record participation from industry leaders.
- Shannon Evans was named director of CAIL’s Criminal Justice and Actual Innocence Programs, bringing fresh leadership to the grant-funded initiatives supported by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
- Sheriff Marian Brown was named chair of the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration’s Advisory Board, reinforcing CAIL’s commitment to ethical law enforcement leadership.
