About the Event

CAIL's Awards Luncheon celebrates the Texas and Houston legal community and its role in helping advance the rule of law. The event commemorates the significant contributions of the late Stephen Susman and Charles W. Hall, esteemed recipients of CAIL's prestigious Achievement in the Pursuit of Justice for All and Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Join us in Houston as we come together to honor and celebrate the enduring legacy of leadership and unwavering commitment to justice within the legal community. The Awards Luncheon will support the important work of The Center for American and International Law, such as actual innocence and criminal-justice programs, law enforcement anti-bias and diversity education, and other educational initiatives that safeguard the rule of law.

Hall, set to receive CAIL's Lifetime Achievement Award, has demonstrated steadfast dedication to the rule of law and has been an integral part of CAIL since his early collaborations with founder Robert G. Storey. His exceptional career, covering federal, state, and local taxation, and his representation of major clients in intricate tax cases further underscores this significant honor. Hall's expansive work within the legal and philanthropic sectors further proves his remarkable achievements.

The event will pay tribute to the late Susman, founder of the prestigious litigation firm Susman Godfrey LLC acknowledging his enduring impact on civil jury trials. Our sincere gratitude goes to Susman's family, who will kindly receive the posthumous Achievement in the Pursuit of Justice for All award on his behalf.
