Overview

Come join participants of our 2024 School of Executive Leadership on Tuesday, March 5 as leading technology experts from Active Intelligence, Axis Communications, Convergint Technologies, Genetec, and JNL Technologies discuss emerging trends in technology and their impact on law enforcement, including:

  • Technology systems integration that bring together security, fire alarm, life safety, audio-visual, and building automation solutions.
  • Video security technology utilizing artificial intelligence, anomaly detection, and real-time analytics.
  • Fully integrated network solutions in video surveillance, access control, intercom, and audio systems. 
  • Wander management, fall detection, access control and nurse call technology in the senior housing market.

Convergint Technologies

Convergint Technologies is a is a global systems integrator that works alongside a global network of partners and manufacturers to design, install, and service scalable security, fire alarm, life safety, audio-visual, and building automation solutions for enterprise customers.

Christopher Almonrode, CPP, CIPM, ESRM, is a Global Security Professional with a passion for protection, currently serving as the Sales Manager at Convergint’s Dallas office.

Additionally, Mr. Almonrode is a retired police sergeant with over 30 years’ experience in police and global security operations. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College and a Certificate in Police Management from the University of North Texas. He is a graduate of the 93rd School of Police Supervision and the 45th Management College at ILEA.

He is a Certified Protection Professional from ASIS International which is considered the gold standard in Security education. He currently leads the Sales Team for Convergint Technology for the North Texas area.

Robbie Haynes, ESRM, has been in the industry for 25 years and came to Convergint in 2019 when his company was acquired in Convergint’s 25th acquisition. Most of Robbie’s career was spent as a senior healthcare technician where he was a leader in installing the solutions Convergint provides. His knowledge and leadership experience led him to become a healthcare product specialist, with a focus on the senior living market. His expertise is in adapting low voltage solutions and integrations, including nurse call, wander management, fall prevention, surveillance cameras, door entry, intercom, and much more. He works directly with the client to establish a game plan to help improve their facility’s use of technology.

Genetec

Genetec Inc. is a recognized leader in intelligent and innovative networked physical security solutions. Among their many products are unified security applications, video management systems, access control systems, the AutoVu™ automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) system, and much more.

David Avedikian, PSP,is the North Texas public sector account executive for Genetec.

Formerly an IT professional and project manager, Mr. Avedikian’s introduction to physical security technology began in 2001 when he managed all systemwide cameras, access control, and badging for Southwest Airlines, including over 3000 access control doors and video cameras, over 75,000 Employee and Contractor ID badges, and 100+ SWA buildings and airport stations across every North American time zone. Now with Genetec, David gets to broaden his impact with people all over the country even more and he loves the additional teaching opportunities it brings. David is a dedicated member of the North Texas ASIS chapter, North Texas Chiefs of Police Association, Young Entrepreneurship Academy, and Dallas Innovation Alliance.

Axis Communications

Axis Communications provides integrated network solutions in video surveillance, access control, intercom, and audio systems. These solutions are enhanced by intelligent analytics applications and supported by high-quality training. As an industry leader in video surveillance, customers around the world use Axis Communications to protect people and property and to improve business performance.

Chase Kimbrough, PSP,is a Regional Sales Manager for Axis Communications. Mr. Kimbrough is a Fort Worth native and has over two decades of experience in the security industry with professional experience in security system design, implementation, support, and retail loss prevention investigations.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Throughout his career, he has worked for multiple end users including Target Assets Protection and Cash America International. In 2018, he moved into a sales role for Axis Communications – a global leader in network-based surveillance and security solutions.

Active Intelligence

Active Intelligence is an international video security technology firm on a mission to drive the industry into the future with a flagship product that transforms video security systems from a forensic resource to a prevention tool utilizing artificial intelligence and anomaly detection.

Jordan Heilweil is Chief Revenue Officer at Active Intelligence Corporation.

For more than four decades, Jordan has been an integral part of the security industry, developing innovative and technologically advanced video surveillance solutions. As founder and CEO of Total Recall Corporation, Jordan and his team became the trusted advisors, providers, and pioneers of video security solutions designed to operate in the harshest urban conditions for citywide, municipal, and enterprise customers across the Northeast – most notably, protecting the Statue of Liberty and NYC through a citywide surveillance network used by the NYPD.

After having generated $150M in total revenues, Total Recall joined the Convergint Technologies family in 2016. Mr. Heilweil’s dedication to advancing security continues as Chief Revenue Officer for Active Intelligence, bringing the most flexible and capable AI-enabled video security anomaly detection to businesses and municipalities around the world.

Chris Martinez is the TOLA Regional Sales Manager for Active Intelligence. A veteran of both the US Navy and the security industry, Chris brings more than 25 years of experience in electronics and video surveillance to this role.

His tenure in the security industry began at Advanced Technology Video where he rose through the ranks to regional sales manager, eventually making his way to one of the security industry’s largest distributors, WESCO/CSC. Since then, Chris has managed sales for several industry hardware and software manufacturers, developing strong relationships with industry titans through a combination of technical know-how and a deep understanding of how security teams operate.

JNL Technologies

JNL Technologies is a leading manufacturer of wander management, fall detection, access control and nurse call technology in the senior housing market. JNL’s mission is to protect residents, and the caregiving staff that serve them, by providing communities with cost-competitive, comprehensive, secure and cutting-edge technology platforms that provide the tools for better care and safe environments.

Bruce Arrowood is the Senior Director of Channel Sales for JNL Technologies.

Bruce Arrowood and his team of dedicated channel partners assess and plan multi-solution sales engagements and deliver positive outcomes. Bruce has 11 years of experience in providing life safety technology to the senior housing industry and believes that every part of the business needs a consultative mindset and he approaches each conversation as an opportunity to collaborate. Bruce has a passion for senior living and how technology can have a positive impact on the staff, residents, and their families.

TCOLE Credit

Law enforcement personnel attending this course are eligible for 6 hours of Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) credit. Many out-of-state participants find their states enjoy a reciprocal training agreement with Texas.

Course Cancellation Policy

Occasionally, the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) may be forced to cancel a scheduled program. Whenever possible, the decision to cancel is made at least fourteen days prior to the start of the program, and registered participants are notified once that decision has been made. If the distance to the training site requires that you make airline and/or hotel reservations, please contact ILEA (+1.972.244.3430) to inquire about the status of any program before making travel arrangements. While paid registrations in cancelled courses will be refunded in full, ILEA will not be responsible for monetary loss due to cancellations or changes in airline or hotel reservations.

Eligibility Policy

The Institute for Law Enforcement Administration provides  professional education and technical support to the law enforcement community. 

A registrant in an ILEA program must be a sworn officer; a civilian employee of a law enforcement department; or an employee of a municipal, county or state agency.

Anyone interested in attending an ILEA program who does not meet the above standard requirements will need to request advance approval. Such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
