Join us for a lively panel where a mix of arbitration practitioners and arbitrators will share their views on the different areas of law and subjects that are often discussed in arbitral disputes, such as IP, technology, construction, and beyond. The discussion will serve as a helpful guide to students that want to get into arbitration but do not know where to start, as well as to practitioners that want to get more involved in the area.

Victoria Seow is an associate with Drew & Napier, one of the largest law firms Singapore. She currently practices both litigation and international arbitration, and her experience includes disputes relating to commercial contracts, banking and investments, as well as construction matters. She has represented clients based in various countries across Asia, but has particular experience with Chinese corporate clients. She also has experience with criminal pro bono matters before the Singapore Courts. Victoria is qualified to practice law in Singapore, but previously also studied English law in the UK at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Paula Henin is a senior associate at White & Case LLP in Los Angeles. Her practice focuses on representing technology clients in international disputes, and advising them on global legislative and regulatory developments affecting their businesses and products. She has extensive experience in cross-border litigation, international commercial and investor-State arbitration, and public international law.
Paula is qualified to practice law in California, New York and England & Wales (solicitor), and also holds a Master’s degree in French law. She was previously an associate in the New York and London offices of global law firms. Prior to joining private practice, Paula served as a law clerk for independent international arbitrator Judge Charles N. Brower in The Hague, Netherlands. She also worked at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris and in the in-house legal department of a global media and information company in New York.

Erika Levin, Partner of Fox Rothschild’s International Group, has extensive experience handling high-stakes international arbitrations and cross-border litigations, as well as enforcement and asset recovery. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Erika serves as an arbitrator for many of the leading forums.
Erika often serves her clients in the role of outside general counsel, partnering with executives and company leadership to provide legal guidance to help advance their business goals, identify impediments, and connect them with smart solutions. She also guides international businesses in internal investigations and in crafting and implementing compliance programs.
Erika represents financial institutions, fund companies and high-net-worth investors in a range of matters. Co-Chair of the Latin America Group, a significant part of her practice is dedicated to disputes and monetization opportunities relating to Brazil and Latin America. She also represents clients from various sectors including fashion, entertainment, manufacturing, distribution, technology, insurance and healthcare.

Giorgio Sassine is an associate with Musick, Peeler & Garrett and is a member of the firm’s International Arbitration and Litigation and Construction Practice Groups. Mr. Sassine has extensive experience on domestic and international high-value, complex commercial, construction, and energy disputes and has represented clients in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. He earned his LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration from Stockholm University, and while in law school, Mr. Sassine also attended the Sorbonne – Université Paris I Panthéon, where he was first introduced and became passionate about international commercial arbitration.

Gary Benton is an internationally recognized Arbitrator with expertise in US and international business, corporate investment, technology and emerging growth matters. He has handled hundreds of cases around the world and serves on the panels of the leading international arbitration institutions in the US, Europe and Asia.
Gary is the founder of California Arbitration (CalArb.org) and the Co-Chair of the California Lawyers Association International Arbitration and ADR Subcommittee. He is a Co-Chair of this year’s California International Arbitration Week.
Gary is a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators (CCA) and an Academy Member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN). He is also the founder and Chairman of the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center (SVAMC). Gary is a member of the ITA Advisory Board.
In addition to his arbitration practice, Gary is an Adjunct Professor at Santa Clara University. He is qualified as a US lawyer and an English solicitor.
