Overview
Presented by the ITA Americas Initiative
Co-Sponsored by Estudio Muñiz Olaya Meléndez Castro Ono & Herrera Abogados
In-house lawyers play a key role in arbitration. From the beginning, in-house counsel participates in the negotiation and drafting of a dispute resolution provision. In-house attorneys play an equally instrumental role once the dispute arises and a decision to commence arbitration needs to be decided. Later on, in the preparation of the submissions, in-house counsel should closely work with outside counsel. They can definitely be an asset for the case, for they are in the better position to locate and gather the relevant evidence and identify potential witnesses within the company. In this working breakfast, we will address all these issues and discuss how in-house counsel can better contribute to the management and efficiency of the arbitration. Finally, we may also discuss how all this experience prepares in-house attorneys for a future career as an arbitrator.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsor, this event is tuition-free and includes breakfast. Please register in advance to help us have an accurate headcount.
