Overview
Presented by Young ITA
This workshop is jointly organized by Young ITA South America, the Centro de Conciliación y Arbitraje of the Cámara Nacional de Industria, Comercio y Servicios de Cochabamba (CCA/ICAM), and the Sociedad Boliviana de Arbitraje – 40. The purpose of this event, which will take place as part of the activities of the National Arbitration Moot (Competencia Nacional de Arbitraje), is to provide participants with theoretical knowledge and practical tools to develop their ability to plead before an arbitral tribunal in international arbitration hearings.
The event is aimed at both students participating in the Competition as well as young practitioners interested in pursuing, or already developing, a career in international arbitration.
During the substantive section, two leading practitioners in the field of international arbitration in Latin America will explain the main issues attorneys should consider to present effective and strong opening and closing statements in an arbitral hearing. The speakers will also provide tips to be applied in international arbitration hearings.
During the practical section, participants will be divided into groups to conduct either a mock opening or a closing statement, allowing them to practice their new acquired knowledge and skills.
