About the Speakers

Dr. Crina Baltag

Dr Crina Baltag is an Associate Professor in International Arbitration at Queen Mary, University of London, and qualified attorney-at-law since 2004, with extensive practice in international commercial and investment arbitration, international dispute resolution, private and public international law. Crina is member of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Institute (SCC) Board. Crina has been appointed in numerous arbitrations, as sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, etc. Crina is the Chair of the Academic Ciuncil of the ITA and co-managing director of the ITA Arbitration Report. Crina is also the Director of the CIArb’s Diploma in International Arbitration.

Monique Sasson

Monique Sasson has more than twenty years of experience in analyzing international disputes. She is qualified as a New York attorney, an English solicitor, and an Italian avvocato, and she has worked at three major law firms in London, Milan, and Rome. Monique has particular expertise in international investment law. She holds a Ph.D. in international law from Cambridge University.

Carmen Haddadin
Mistelis & Haddadin
Carmen Haddadin is a partner at Mistelis & Haddadin and an experienced arbitration lawyer fluent in Arabic (her mother tongue) and English, with a good working knowledge of French. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). She has acted as counsel and tribunal secretary in multiple commercial arbitrations administered by leading institutions including the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), the London Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation (LCAM), and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
Carmen provides advisory services on a broad range of commercial matters, with particular expertise in corporate transactions and contract law. She notably served as the legal advisor to/Head of Legal Department in Royal Jordanian Airlines, playing a vital role in its restructuring and privatization as a member of the technical team appointed by the Government of Jordan.
In addition to her legal practice, Carmen has taught contract law and company law at prestigious universities in the UK as well as American universities with campuses in London, bringing academic depth to her practical experience.
Her multilingual abilities and extensive cross-border experience enable her to effectively manage complex international arbitration and commercial matters, especially those involving the Middle East, the UK and Europe.

Richard Hansen
Linklaters LLP
Richard Hansen is a Managing Associate in Linklaters’ Amsterdam Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations team, with a specific focus on international arbitration. He is a dual-qualified lawyer (Netherlands and U.S.) with over a decade of experience acting as counsel in arbitrations and arbitration-related court proceedings, such as enforcement proceedings and setting aside proceedings. Richard is also Country Reporter for the Netherlands on the Institute for Transnational Arbitration's Board of Reporters..

Khushboo Shahdadpuri

Khushboo Shahdadpuri is a Partner with Al Tamimi & Company focusing on infrastructure, construction, energy, finance and joint venture disputes and arbitration. She has been ranked as an Arbitration Global Elite Thought Leaders under 45 category and as a Future Leader in Construction in Lexology (formerly Who’s Who Legal), has been awarded the Construction Leading Associate of the Year in 2025 and Rising Star in 2023 and 2024 by Legal 500 for her expertise in construction disputes. She was most recently shortlisted in the IFLR Women in Business Law awards and the Arbitration Lawyer of the Year by Lexis Nexis Women In Law awards.
Khushboo also sits as arbitrator in commercial and construction arbitrations including as chair of various tribunals.
Khushboo regularly speaks and publishes on arbitration and construction issues and serves as EMEA Regional Lead in the YSIAC (Singapore International Arbitration Centre) Council and in the IBA Arbitration Arb-40 subcommittee, amongst many others. She is Associate Editor in Kluwer Arbitration Blog and oversees the MENA and South Asia teams.
