Join us for a deep dive into navigating post-award procedures across Oceania. This event brings together experienced arbitration practitioners from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and PNG, and will discuss recent developments in each country, illustrating the diversity of the region. In addition to exploring jurisdictional nuances, tactical enforcement strategies against both private and sovereign award debtors will also be considered.

This in-person event will also feature a light networking lunch after the panel discussion, offering participants an opportunity to connect with peers.

Daniel Meltz AM is recognised as one of Australia’s leading international arbitration practitioners with over 25 years of specialist experience. Daniel regularly appears as counsel in both institutional and ad hoc arbitrations as well as sitting as arbitrator internationally and domestically. In 2024 Daniel was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for services to international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.

He has appeared in a number of arbitration award enforcement cases before Australian courts. Daniel has specific institutional experience as counsel and/or arbitrator in ICC, SIAC, ACICA, LCIA, SCC, CIETAC and AAA-ICDR arbitrations and is highly ranked in leading arbitration guides.

Daniel is a Fellow of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and a panel arbitrator on AAA-ICDR, NZIAC, SIAC and ACICA. He currently holds an appointment with the Asian Development Bank as an arbitration expert advising several South Pacific states, including Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Palau, Vanuatu and Samoa on accession to the New York Convention, drafting national legislation and capacity building.

A dual-qualified lawyer in both New York and Australia specialising in domestic and international commercial arbitration, investor-State and inter-State dispute resolution, Nastasja has experience advising and representing private and sovereign entities in dispute resolution proceedings conducted under an array of arbitration rules, primarily across the construction, renewable energy and natural resources sectors.

Nastasja also has specific expertise in public international law and responsible business practices advisory work. She regularly advises States, inter-governmental and non-governmental organisations and corporate entities on the interpretation of, and compliance with, obligations arising under international law instruments and customary international law.

Anna is a commercial arbitrator, adjudicator and barrister, specialising in international arbitration and public international law. Anna is New Zealand's member on the ICC International Court of Arbitration (2021-2024). Anna is also on the Council of the Arbitrator's and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ).

Anna has been involved in over 50 arbitrations over the past 15 years as counsel, arbitrator or tribunal secretary. She has extensive experience in arbitrations under the ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, LCIA and SIAC Rules. Anna spent a number of years practicing international arbitration in London, representing clients across a range of industries including energy and natural resources, shipping, infrastructure and procurement. When she returned to New Zealand in 2011, she assisted Sir David Williams KNZM, QC with many large international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations. Anna now sits as an arbitrator in both international and domestic arbitrations. Anna also sits regularly as an adjudicator under the Construction Contracts Act.

Ana Tuiketei is an international lawyer and arbitrator that is the first listed Pacific Counsel with the International Criminal Court (The Hague). She was also elected at the ICC Bar Association General Assembly to the Defense and Membership Committee-another first for the Pacific. She is also the only female Pacific Islander listed as an arbitrator with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Lausanne, Switzerland), the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (China) and the South China International Arbitration Centre (Hong Kong). She is admitted to the Tongan and Fijian Bar.

She is the deputy director of the Institute of Small and Microstates based in the UK. She was also in the UK Commonwealth Secretariat Task Force on International Arbitration and is a Board Member for the World Anti-Doping Agency Independent Ethics Committee.
