Over the past year several new and amended federal regulations have been promulgated causing a ripple effect on the energy industry both onshore and offshore. This panel will discuss a sampling of these regulations including topics such as: National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reform, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s (BOEM) strengthened financial assurance requirements for offshore lessees due to decommissioning obligations, and the Inflation Reduction Act’s federal onshore and offshore lease sale requirements.
