About the Honorees

Chevron Corporation, as a leading energy provider, has helped deliver many of society’s most important advancements and have a vital role to play in meeting growing demands for affordable, reliable, ever-cleaner energy, to continue enabling human progress around the world.

Chevron has a long history of striving to promote diversity, equity, and Inclusion. In 1962, Chevron implemented non-discrimination policies to protect its employees. By 1991, diversity and inclusion was regarded as a business imperative, and Chevron became the first oil and gas company to extend same sex partner benefits in 1998. In 2005, the Office of Global Diversity was created. In 2018, Chevron became the first oil major to publish its US workforce diversity across all levels of the company in its annual Corporate Sustainability Report.

Chevron focuses on support and allyship through its 11 employee networks, all of which have a senior leader serving as an executive sponsor. In addition, Chevron’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer meets regularly with the Chairman and CEO, chief human resources officer and other senior leaders to discuss issues and initiatives as part of the company’s commitment for a more diverse and inclusive workforce.

Chevron has also significantly added to its race equity strategy with the Business Roundtable (BRT) and has representation on the Multiple Pathways Project to advance skill-based hiring practices which removes degree requirement for certain roles. Chevron supports BRT to explore how Skills-based talent strategies are key to expanding jobs and economic opportunity to more Americans, including by increasing diversity and equity in employment, and demonstrates Chevron’s commitment to equity in hiring practices.

In addition, Chevron’s Law Function Diversity Council focuses on increasing diversity and inclusion among legal professionals both inside and outside Chevron’s Law Function by identifying diversity and inclusion initiatives and by supporting the implementation and execution of these initiatives. The LFDC has supported and actively participated in many legal professional organizations both inside and outside of the Houston area, including the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston, the Asian American Bar Association, the Texas Minority Counsel Program, Corporate Counsel Women of Color, Charles Houston Bar Association, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. In addition, the LFDC awards an annual diversity award to an outside counsel partner that has distinguished itself in its commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Linda Perez Clark is Managing Partner of Kean Miller. Based in the firm’s Baton Rouge office, she has more than 20 years of experience representing clients in wide variety of transactional matters, including for industrial mega-projects in Louisiana and in the Gulf of Mexico. Linda is listed among the top Corporate/M&A lawyers in the State of Louisiana by Chambers USA 2020. She is listed on the Lawyers of Color's (LoC) Power List 2020. She is listed in both the 2023 and 2024 editions of Baton Rouge Business Report's Capital Region 500. Linda is also recognized in the 2024 and 2025 editions of The Best Lawyers in America in Corporate Law.

As a minority female managing partner, Linda is regularly asked to speak on DE&I issues in the legal practice around the country. She was integral to Kean Miller becoming the first Louisiana law firm to obtain Mansfield Certification. In October 2023, the firm achieved Mansfield 6.0.

Over 15 years ago, Linda created the Kean Miller Connection program, a pro bono immersive law firm experience for college students who are underrepresented in the legal industry. They are exposed to LSAT prep, mock law school classes, informative panels including in-house counsel (from client energy companies like Shell, BP, Chevron, Exxon, etc.), judges, and private practice attorneys. The goal is to expose the legal industry (in its different forms) to diverse students and to educate them on how to pursue a law career should they be interested in one. The Program also serves as a diverse talent pipeline between law students and companies and law firms.
