Overview
Join us for a reception and award ceremony honoring this year’s recipients of IEL's Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award. The evening will also feature a program addressing diversity and inclusion issues.
Nominations
We are now accepting nominations for the 2025 Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award. The award is presented annually to honor and recognize, a person, people, or organization that exhibits qualities of leadership and has demonstrated their contribution to advancing diversity and inclusion in the energy industry or legal profession and to increasing engagement. Again this year, IEL may award two honors: one to an organization and one to an individual.
In selecting the recipient, the IEL Executive Committee shall consider several factors such as whether the individual, group of individuals, or organization:
- Champions diversity and inclusion in the energy industry and/or legal profession;
- Develops, implements, and contributes to initiatives, programs, and policies that produce tangible, measurable results for improving diversity, inclusion, and engagement in the energy industry and/or legal profession;
- Raises awareness and consciousness about diversity and inclusion;
- Displays an ongoing commitment to strengthening the atmosphere of diversity, inclusion, and engagement in the energy industry and/or legal profession;
- Works tirelessly to combat unconscious bias in the energy industry and/or legal profession;
- Demonstrates mentorship in creating pathways and opportunities for the promotion of diverse talent in the energy industry and/or legal profession;
- Develops and supports initiatives to recruit and retain diverse talent in the energy industry and/or legal profession;
- Champions diversely-owned or diversely-led companies involved in the energy industry and/or legal profession;
- Works generally in the local community to champion diversity and inclusion efforts; and
- Fosters a trusting environment for discussions regarding diversity, inclusion, and engagement.
For nominations for organizations, we are looking for unique and successful programs. If applicable, please include any international initiatives.
