Monty Cooper is a partner in Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office. A counselor and trial lawyer, Monty focuses on product liability, environmental, and complex civil litigation, having litigated a wide variety of tort, product liability, and commercial cases in numerous high-exposure venues. He has defended major oil companies in product liability litigation and property-damage claims arising from gasoline spills, including litigation over the gasoline component MTBE, and he has extensive experience in federal multidistrict litigation. He has also counseled clients in non-litigation matters, including concerning ESG and sustainability risks and regulatory advice on chemicals such as PFAS. Monty also regularly publishes articles and speaks on panels nationwide on topics ranging from environmental litigation and regulatory trends to emerging contaminants like PFAS and microplastics. Monty is vice chair of IEL’s ESG Committee and has a Certificate in Sustainable Capitalism & ESG Online from Berkeley Law Executive Education.

Elizabeth B. Dawson is a partner in the Environment and Natural Resources Group at Crowell & Moring's Washington, D.C., office, a leader of the firm's global ESG Advisory Team, and chair of the firm's Sustainability Committee. Ellie counsels clients on a broad range of ESG and sustainability issues and helps clients navigate federal environmental and climate-related laws and regulations, comment on and litigate agency rulemakings, and defend against enforcement actions. Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Ellie spent over five years as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice's Environment & Natural Resources Division, where she gained invaluable insight into agency policies and procedures. Ellie has co-chaired the ABA's Clean Technology and Climate Change Committee and holds a Certificate in Sustainable Capitalism & ESG from Berkeley Law Executive Education.

Ryan Meltzer is a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright. MCLE Credit
Texas Course Number 174322827. This course has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of Texas Committee on MCLE in the amount of 1.0 credit hours, of which no credit hours will apply to ethics/professional responsibility credit.
This online program has not been approved for MCLE credit in any other jurisdictions. If requested by attendees, CAIL will request accreditation in California, Louisiana, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
