Overview

Hosted by the Young Energy Professional Committee

This session will introduce summer associates to dispute resolution from a practical, real-world perspective, highlighting how transactional and litigation practices intersect when disputes arise. Featuring both a transactional attorney and a litigator, the discussion will explore how decisions made during contract drafting, such as forum selection, governing rules, etc., can shape how disputes are handled down the line.

Speakers will walk through the lifecycle of a dispute, and how transactional and litigation teams work together throughout the process. The session will also touch on the different dispute resolution mechanisms and why early strategic decisions can impact efficiency, cost, and overall case management.
