Overview
LNG projects are long-term, capital-intensive, and built on contracts that must withstand decades of market and political change, making them a recurring source of high-stakes disputes. This panel brings together practitioners with deep experience in LNG transactions and disputes to examine how conflicts in this sector arise and evolve. Philip Weems will share findings from his research into LNG disputes in the last decades. Vera de Gyarfas will address the commercial, contractual, and geopolitical factors that most often drive these disputes, with a focus on current trends shaping the market today. Eric Eyberg of S&P will bring an economic and quantum perspective, addressing how damages and valuation issues are assessed in LNG disputes. Moderated by Silvia Marchili, the discussion will give in-house counsel and outside advisers practical insight into where LNG disputes are heading and how to prepare for them.
Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.
Registration capped at 35 for in-person. No cap for online registration.
