Overview

Presented by the Institute for Energy Law (IEL), the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation (EMLF), American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (FNREL).

This is the only course of its kind – a comprehensive, immersive oil and gas course taught by oil and gas law professors from schools throughout the nation along with a select few practitioners who are experts in their fields. This course focuses primarily on the principles of U.S. laws and state regulations. For in-depth treatment of international oil and gas or the federal oil and gas leasing program, see our upcoming courses.

Topics covered include exploration and production operations; ownership, capture, and correlative rights; oil and gas leases; royalties; conveyancing; division orders; pooling and unitization; conservation regulation; local regulation; participation agreements; joint operating agreements; drilling contracts; marketing agreements; environmental regulation; ethics; oil and gas taxation; and carbon capture, utilization, and storage.

Join us in Texas for three days for this unique course and the chance to network with others in the field. Then learn an additional two days of content online at your convenience.

This course is essential for attorneys, landmen, paralegals, government employees, and others who practice or work in the oil and gas industry or related fields. The course provides up to 30.5 hours of continuing legal education or AAPL credit, including up to 20.5 in-person hours and one in-person hour of ethics, and 10 on-demand online hours and one hour of on-demand online ethics.
