The program for the IEL’s 4th Law of Shale Plays Conference is now available online. The conference will be presented in Fort Worth on June 6 and 7, and will be of interest to lawyers, landmen and other professionals engaged in shale work across the U.S. and abroad. Conference co-chairs David Poole (Range Resources) and Barclay Nicholson (Fulbright & Jaworski) have built on the three previous conferences to develop a program for experienced practitioners, and highlights will include:
- how public relations and social aspects of shale plays interact with the law;
- protection of endangered wildlife – what does the law require?
- the U.S. energy future, and national security aspects of gas export;
- community encounters with shale operations;
- SEC implications;
as well as perennial favorites like the general counsel panel and the litigation update given by experienced practitioners from around the country.
