The 7th Leadership Class of the Institute for Energy Law (IEL) gathered in Houston, Texas, on September 25-26 for a two-day retreat that brought together 45 emerging and established leaders from across the energy sector. The retreat was designed to help participants build relationships, share experiences, and grow as leaders. Through a mix of team-building exercises and engaging discussions, the group fostered a sense of camaraderie and connection that will carry them through their year-long journey together.
Alongside these activities, the retreat featured insightful workshops and presentations led by industry leaders. Participants explored topics like leadership development, StrengthsFinder assessments, and management strategies, with an emphasis on the importance of building strong professional relationships. Speakers from organizations such as Susan G. Komen, Honeywell, Shell, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, McGuireWoods, and Hogan Thompson Schuelke LLP shared their expertise on navigating challenges and making the most of personal strengths in a fast-changing industry.
This retreat marked the start of what promises to be a transformative year for the class, as they continue to build skills and form lasting connections.
