IEL Announces 2025 Young Energy Professional Award Recipients

The Institute for Energy Law (IEL), a division of The Center for American and International Law (CAIL), is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Young Energy Professional (YEP) Awards, recognizing emerging leaders in energy law. The awards will be presented at IEL’s 8th National Young Energy Professionals Conference, set for April 2-3 in Las Vegas. This year’s honorees include one Outstanding Young Energy Professional and three Emerging Stars.

"Energy law is constantly evolving, and it’s the next generation of attorneys who will drive that change," said Vickie Adams, co-director of IEL and vice president of CAIL. "These young professionals are tackling complex legal issues, pushing the industry forward, and making a real impact. We’re proud to recognize their achievements and celebrate their contributions to the field."

2025 IEL Outstanding Young Energy Professional Award

Miles Indest (McGuireWoods LLP)

A Texas-Louisiana litigator with an MBA, Indest focuses on high-stakes energy and technology disputes, including trade secrets, environmental issues, and AI regulations.

2025 IEL Emerging Star Award Recipients

Liz Felicidario (Haynes and Boone, LLP)

An energy transactions attorney advising clients on finance, acquisitions, and commodity trading across oil, gas, and renewables.

Megan Griffith (Susman Godfrey L.L.P.)

A trial lawyer handling complex commercial litigation, with experience in major energy sector disputes, environmental cases, and patent litigation.

Aaron Koenck (Hall Maines Lugrin, P.C.)

A dispute resolution attorney focusing on energy and maritime law, licensed in Texas, Louisiana, and England & Wales.

Established in 2024 by IEL’s Young Energy Professionals Committee, the YEP Awards celebrate early-career attorneys who have demonstrated excellence, leadership, and impact in the energy sector.
