Overview
This is the third of four seminars will focus on four of the most urgent and thorny elements of the Draft Code of Conduct for Adjudicators in Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS), which was recently published by ICSID and UNCITRAL:
- Part One: Is There an Issue with Issue Conflict?
- Part Two: Is There a Problem with Wearing Multiple Hats?
- Part Three: Should There Be Limits to Repeat Appointments?
- Part Four: The Questions of Implementation and Enforcement of the Draft Code
In each seminar, experts from a variety of backgrounds will discuss the proposed text, the possible options included in the draft Code’s bracketed text, different policies options as well as the systemic implications that each provisions may have in the effort of ISDS reform.
These webinars are presented for free as a public service on these important issues of international arbitration practice.
PART THREE: Should There Be Limits to Repeat Appointments?
The third webinar of the series will explore the issue of multiple appointments of the same adjudicator in ISDS proceedings. Experts will present and discuss the proposal included in the Draft Code, including its variations in the bracketed text and will address questions such as how to define multiple appointments, and when and whether it should be regulated in a Draft Code.
