ITA Appoints Elena Gutiérrez as New ITAFOR Moderator

We are pleased to announce Ms. Elena Gutierrez García de Cortázar recently joined ITAFOR as Moderator. ITAFOR’s group of moderators is comprised of eminent arbitration experts. This new appointment brings the total number of ITAFOR moderators to seven.
Elena is an international arbitration lawyer with a double degree in Law & Business Administration from ICADE University (E-3) and has over 20 years of experience. She is admitted to the Bars of Paris and Madrid.

Elena has a 360o international arbitration perspective due to her experience as: (i) international arbitrator (ICC, CCL Amcham, ICDR, ad hoc UNCITRAL, Madrid Court of Arbitration); (ii) former Secretary General of the Madrid Court of Arbitration; and (iii) lawyer at prestigious law firms such as Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz in Nueva York and Uria Menéndez.

Elena is member of the International Court of Arbitration of AmCham Peru, the ICC Arbitration Commission and the ICC International Arbitration Latin-American Group. ITAFOR's new Moderator is also Member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Arbitration Club, Arbitral Women and is co-chair of the WWA Latam’s Women Arbitrators Working Group.

Elena has been recognised by the prestigious ranking Who’s Who Legal Arbitration in its 2018, 2019 and 2020 editions. Elena has an extensive academic experience and teaches in different postgraduate programs of different universities.
