Alan Dunlop, the director of IEL, has announced his intention to take early retirement at the end of February 2015. Alan joined CAIL as an additional professional member of staff in early 2011 after a long career in the oil and gas industry, thereby allowing IEL to expand its programming and online presence.
Commenting on his decision, Alan remarked, "I have really enjoyed my four years at CAIL, a terrific organization doing really valuable work. For personal and family reasons, this is, however, the right time to pursue some of the fun things in life which work keeps interrupting, and my wife Janet and I are looking forward to having more time for travel and other pursuits. I'm planning to stay in touch with CAIL and may even appear occasionally at conferences or looking after some discrete piece of work".
CAIL is currently seeking a replacement for Alan’s joint position as IEL Director and Co-Director of the Institute for Law and Technology (ILT). For more details on the position, click here.
