On September 20, 2012, the ILEA Alumni Board met in person and by conference call to begin setting the agenda for the 2013 Contemporary Issues Conference, tentatively slated for April 3, 4, and 5, 2013. The theme adopted for the conference is Policing in Our Century: Emerging Issues. Among the topics to be addressed are such things as:
- On the increase in officer line of duty deaths
- Duty of Care
- Recruiting, hiring and retention…what does morale have to do with it?
- Policing in tough economic times…and more
